Thanks for the Birthday Wishes

I want to thank everyone who took a few seconds out of their day to acknowledge my continued existence. I especially want to thank Sly for doing what she does to make my life, well, livable.

Hey, you; listen to this.
I discovered The The in the summer of 1988 while living in Jasper during what would be the last innocent summer of my life before the vagaries and ugliness of what being an adult really meant began to solidify in my mind.
This song is a reminder to me that every single day above ground is another chance.  A chance to change; a chance to do things differently; a chance to make your life what you want it to be rather that what it’s been up to this point, if that’s what you want. Of course, you’re also getting more chances to fuck it all up as well but, hey, that’s the way it goes.
Here’s hoping the next year is better, or at least as good, as the last.
